A Simple Act of Obedience

Genesis 12:1 Now the LORD had said to Abram: "Get out of your country, From your family And from your father's house, To a land that I will show you. 2 I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed."

This year represents the 10-year anniversary of my exodus from the military. In 2001, I got out of the Army at the peak of my career without retiring and with no other military benefits. To be honest, my sacrifice was not a willing one! I begged The Lord to work things out for me but to no avail. At the time, I didn't understand why God was requiring such a sacrifice from me. But looking in retrospect, I believe that it was that particular act of obedience that has allowed me and our ministry to live under an open heaven of God's Favor and Blessings.

In Genesis 12, The Lord required a tremendous sacrifice of a gentleman by the name of Abram. The Bible says, Some Bible scholars say that at the time that Abram obeyed, he was next in line to take over the family business. But his obedience to God resulted in his being the father of the faith. Abram's willingness to follow The Lord thousands of years ago is producing fruit in his behalf even today (Galatians 3:29).

Is God requiring you to make a move of faith during this season? What has The Lord been pressing upon your heart to do that you still haven't done? A simple act of obedience could very well be the key that shall unlock the door into your new season.

Let’s Pray:
“Father, help us to obey You, even when You’re requiring a great sacrifice of us, in Jesus’ Name, amen.”

Daily Confession

Thank You for making me the head and not the tail

Above only and not beneath

The lender and not the borrower

The conquerer and not the conquered

Thank You for giving me all things that pertain to life and godliness

And for delivering my life from death and destruction

So that I might live and not die

To declare Your Works

Thank You that no sickness shall live in my body

For by Your Stripes I am healed

Thank You that I shall not be stressed, oppressed or depressed

But I'm kept in perfect peace as my mind is stayed on Thee

Thank You that I'm not distressed, distracted, or in disarray

But I'm focused on what You've called me to do

Thank You that there is no lack in my life today

For my God shall supply all my needs according to His Riches in Glory by Christ Jesus

This is the day that the Lord has made

I will rejoice and be glad in it,

In Jesus' Name,

Amen
